Children, seniors, even back surgery patients can benefit from chiropractic care. Naturally, treatment plans are tailored to your size, age, and particular health issue.
Paperwork
The first step of your first office visit is filling out the standard new patient paperwork. To dramatically reduce the time spent at our office filling out this paperwork, please check your email after scheduling your first visit to fill out the forms in the comfort of your own home before the visit. Then, our staff can begin processing your information when you walk in our doors the date of your appointment. If you already have previous X-rays, MRI’s, or other diagnostic studies related to your condition, please bring them with any reports/records to the first office visit.
Insurance
Please contact your insurance company to verify your coverage before scheduling an appointment. Most HMO plans do not cover treatments preformed at our office.
No Charge Consultation
After the paperwork has been processed by our staff, you will meet with the doctor for an initial consultation. There is no charge for this initial consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for the doctors to listen to your health concerns and take a medical history of your condition. By sharing this information, you and the doctor can determine if a treatment program at Team Chiropractic and Rehabilitation of Ames is the right choice for your health needs.
Prior to your appointment, our staff will attempt to verify any healthcare benefits that you may have. If you are a candidate for treatment at Team Chiropractic and Rehabilitation of Ames, we will review any health benefits or insurance (if applicable) with you. Our staff members are highly trained and can answer many questions you might have about your specific coverage.
Examination
After benefits are explained and consent is released, a doctor will perform a thorough physical examination to determine the true cause of the patient’s problem. Based on the initial consultation and physical exam, further diagnostic imaging may be indicated. If you already have previous X-rays, MRI’s, or other diagnostic studies, please bring them with you along with any reports/records to the first office visit.
Treatment
It is very important to us that the healing process starts as soon as possible. In most cases based on the initial information gathered, treatment will begin on the first visit.
The doctors of Team Chiropractic and Rehabilitation of Ames believe that rehabilitative exercise is essential for proper healing. Rarely is a care plan for a patient prescribed by our doctors that does not has a detailed phased exercise program to teach the patient to "help themselves". Typically we start this process of teaching patients to help themselves on the first visit with simple at home exercises to help reduce pain, teach proper posture, and ergonomics.
